"A place I will always remember"
It was many years ago, when I was a
little nine-year-old girl. I won
in the mathematical competition which was called "Mathematical Cangaroo"
a
trip to Cracow. I was very surprised and happy although I didn't know
anybody. We went by the bus. I had never been to Cracow before that day. I
wondered, how the second historical capital of Poland looked. We went to the
dormitory.
Next day I had to get up very early. I was waiting impatiently for
visiting
Cracow's monuments. First we went to the market-square. I saw for example
the church - 'Kosciol Mariacki'. It's a basilica with three Gothic naves and
two towers. Then I visited 'Sukiennice' - one of few Europan remained cloth
halls. Of course we couldn't forget about "Wawel" - unique hill with
castle
and cathedral with chapel, which is called "Kaplica Zygmuntowska".
After
that we went by bus to the "Kopiec Kosciuski". I think Cracow is a
city with
so many monuments remembering our national history that we can there feel
like real Poles.
I leave in Cracow a little coin to visit this city again. I hope this dream
will come true. Cracow is a city with special, magnificent mood. Now I'm not
surprised that Cracow is often said to be a capital of Polish culture.
